Aldous Huxley's best known novel, "Brave New World" is a book set in a dystopian future. It serves as a warning against the threat of totalitarianism. Huxley used his profound perception to bring issues of 20th century society into sharp focus. Ironically he struggled with brutal eyesight maladies for much of his life and was rendered sedentary in his formative years. That seminal experience and his determination to overcome it, became the subject of a book he called, "The Art of Seeing."
My poster contribution to the monthly guest artist series at Tilt Union, explores a person whose deft perception was in part shaped by blindness.
